SANTA CRUZ – Three men known for visiting haunted houses and hunting down ghosts all over the country stopped by the Boardwalk on Thursday to film a few scenes for an upcoming episode of “Ghost Adventures.”
Ghost Hunters, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin rode several rides and mingled with fans, mostly teen girls, while being followed around by a television crew with three large video cameras. They also paused to sign autographs and take photographs with fans.
Bagans went to school with “Lost Boys” star Corey Haim, who died in 2010 at age 38.
The ghost-hunting crew from the Travel Channel filmed some of the same Boardwalk scenes Thursday that are included in the “Lost Boys” movie, which also was shot at the amusement park, according to Boardwalk spokeswoman Brigid Fuller.
After the Boardwalk, the cast was said to be headed to the Brookdale Inn and Spa outside Ben Lomond to poke around for spooky stuff in the county’s most infamous haunted house.
In each show, the trio interview eyewitnesses and historians at various locations, arming themselves with the stories of the ghosts they will later provoke and confront during their dusk-to-dawn lockdowns. Then they review and analyze their findings with experts and specialists in the paranormal field.
In one episode, they explored the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas with special guests Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil and poker champion Jamie Gold to evoke the spirit of Frank Sinatra in his old penthouse suite.
