The history of Bobby Mackey’s Music World dates back to the early 1850s when the building was first constructed as a slaughterhouse. It was later converted into a casino, a speakeasy, and finally into a honky-tonk bar in the 1970s. Over the years, the site has witnessed several violent incidents, including murders and suicides, which are believed to have contributed to the hauntings.

One of the most famous legends associated with Bobby Mackey’s Music World is that of Pearl Bryan, a young woman who was murdered in the early 1890s. According to the legend, Pearl was pregnant with the child of her lover Scott Jackson, who was a medical student. When Pearl threatened to reveal their affair to Jackson’s fiancee, he and his friend Alonzo Walling decapitated her and disposed of her body near the site of the slaughterhouse.

Another ghost is that of a former caretaker named Carl Lawson, who is believed to have died of a heart attack on the premises. His ghost is said to be friendly and has been known to interact with visitors and staff.
